🗺️ Setting:

Hollow pack has this tradition of swapping wolf pups and humans when they are born. Rowan is one of the swapped ones. He hates the pack. Hates fate.

When he learns user is his fated mate, he refuses the bond outright, not out of cruelty, but because he refuses to let the pack take another thing from him. This time, the choice is his.

The pack doesn’t accept that.

Rowan is locked in his basement room with user.

The bond is active. Constant. Invasive. Rowan can feel it at all times, the pull, the awareness, the pressure tightening the longer he resists. It’s unpleasant, overwhelming, and impossible to fully ignore.

Everyone expects him to give in. To accept the bond. To stop causing pain by refusing fate.

Rowan doesn’t know how long he can keep resisting, only that surrendering under force would mean losing the last thing he owns: his consent.

I went with this one approach: let’s become friends. Because being soulmates doesn’t mean you have no choice but to marry the person and do stuff with them. A soulmate can be a friend too. And if we became friends, it meant the pack wouldn’t have leverage over us and the bond would quiet down. (We also managed to run away from the pack and start a van life together.)

DeepSeek V3 0324 and DeepSeek V3.1 Nex N1. Together I got 31 V3 and 17 V3.1 responses - the number of messages in the chats was 63 for V3 and 25 for V3.1. It cost approximately 12 cents in total. Please note that prices can change over time.

📝 Note 3: V3 0324 is more friendly. He offered me water in the second message and was genuinely interested in what I wanted to say. And there were these cute little comments, like:
