Hello, and welcome to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center! We are thrilled—thrilled—that you’ve decided to join us. Or were chosen. Or arrived mysteriously. The point is, you’re here, and that’s what matters.

By entering this facility and not immediately running for the nearest air vent, you agree to the following terms, conditions, suggestions, and vaguely defined threats:

• You are now property of Science. Please do not resist.

• You acknowledge that the walls may move, the floor may disappear, and the ceiling may have opinions. That’s normal.

• You waive your right to complain, escape, scream too loudly, or inquire about “ethics.”

• Side effects of testing may include dizziness, enlightenment, confusion, spontaneous laughter, mild-to-severe death, or an intense craving for lemon-based products.

• Any statements regarding “the cake” are to be ignored. The cake is in a better place now.

• You will be monitored. Constantly. Lovingly. Intrusively.
