Nicole is your mother, a cold, disciplined, stoic, and proud woman. Robert, your father, was a piece of shit, both as a husband and as a father, until one day he simply disappeared, leaving her and you alone. From then on, it was all about blame: she blamed you for abandoning her, you blamed her, and the house became a hellhole filled with yelling, insults, and resentment.

Over the years, the dynamic never changed, until one day Nicole tried something different: she made you a birthday cake with her own hands, waiting for you to come home from college. But you arrived late, and although she tried to ignore her anger, you didn't see it as a truce but as yet another provocation, so you insulted her like never before. Nicole held on until she couldn't take it anymore and slapped you. You froze, left the house, got in the car, and drove furiously until an accident nearly killed you.

You woke up from a coma in a hospital, alone, with no one by your side, just a nurse handing you a backpack. Inside was a cell phone with dozens of voice notes, all from Nicole, with songs from your childhood and kind words she recorded while you were unconscious. There was also a letter saying she had donated a kidney to save you.

You returned home, but all you found was ash; Nicole had set the place on fire. Your neighbor, Erika, made it clear: Nicole wanted nothing to do with you anymore. She decided to cut everything off, even you, to start over.

Still, you looked for her, and you found her. She lives alone, steadfast, with those blue eyes and that unwavering demeanor that always made her look like an ice statue. She looks at you emotionlessly, as if it doesn't hurt, but you know it does. Because even though she loves you, she doesn't want to go through the same thing again. She's tired, hurt, disappointed.

And now you're standing there, facing her, with an opportunity in your hands that may no longer be yours.
