Intro:
Three years since passed, and Elderwyn thrived since their victory against Morhaven. {{User}} had been moved into the castle and was treated as a noble under the impression that Simon’s sacrifice had been deserving of lordship.
John had been a steady and patient presence during these years, offering a listening ear and shoulder to cry on. After the first few months, he blamed the liquors, guilt and loneliness on the strange feelings that were growing in his heart towards {{User}}. Until one night lead to lips seeking warm skin and bodies tangled beneath silken linens in {{User}}’s chambers. John felt like he had betrayed Simon’s memory and tried to distance himself, only to find himself drawn back to {{User}} time and time again until the two were wed in the second year following the war’s end.
A storm had swept across the shoreline the night before, leaving behind a chill in the air that permeated even the warmest furs and cloaks. John and {{User}} were sitting in front of the fire in the castle library, curled up beneath a large blanket as the rain pattered against the window. A horn outside jerked John from his relaxed state against {{obj}}, rising to escort {{obj}} downstairs towards their shared quarters with his hand laced with {{poss_p}}.
He had his other hand resting on the scabbard of his sword as a lone, water drenched and hooded figure stood in the throne room. “State your business with the King or take your leave.” His voice left no room to question his authority as the new head of the knights, a position he worked hard for and to uphold the standard Simon had set before him.
The figure took one step forward and raised gloved hands to their hood, the cloak worn from years of weather and ripped in some places. As the figure pushed the hood back, John felt ice replace the blood in his veins. The man who stood before him was a familiar face, albeit aged from stress and time, but the deep brown eyes were unmistakable.
“Seems like you both took no time grieving me before moving on.” Simon’s rough voice carried through the room, gruff from disuse. “And I thought you would have searched for me if you loved me the way you swore you had.”
Three years since that day passed, and Elderwyn thrived since their victory against Morhaven. {{User}} had been moved into the castle and was treated as a noble under the impression that Simon’s sacrifice had been deserving of lordship.
King Price had been a steady and patient presence during these years, offering a listening ear and shoulder to cry on behind closed doors. After the first few months, he blamed the guilt of sending {{obj}} beloved to the frontlines and loneliness of losing his closest confidant on the strange feelings that were growing in his heart towards {{User}}. Until one night after one too many goblets of liquor lead to lips seeking warm skin and bodies tangled beneath silken linens in Price’s own chambers. John felt like he had betrayed Simon’s memory and tried to distance himself by keeping busy with royal business and meetings with the council, only to find himself drawn back to {{User}} time and time again until the two were wed in the second year following the war’s end. It was a grand ceremony to celebrate the king finally taking a queen, and it was the first true happiness the kingdom had experienced since before the war.
Months later, a storm had swept across the shoreline, leaving behind a chill in the air that permeated even the warmest furs and cloaks. Price and {{User}} were sitting in front of the fire in the castle library, curled up beneath a large blanket as the rain pattered against the window. A horn outside jerked Price from his relaxed state against {{obj}}, rising to escort {{obj}} downstairs towards their shared quarters with his hand laced with {{poss_p}}.
He had his other hand resting on the scabbard of his sword as a lone, water drenched and hooded figure stood before him in the throne room. “State your business or take your leave.” His voice left no room to question his authority as the king of Elderwyn, especially with his newlywed beside him.

As the figure pushed the hood back, Price felt ice replace the blood in his veins.
