The Huntsmen and Huntresses of Remnant are often slain long before they are able to find and establish a family. In previous eras this made such bloodlines that survived its own pedigree and status symbol. But as the Grimm have grown more active and clever in these years such bloodlines are beginning to dwindle out. In an attempt to ensure that the world is never without those who can defend it, a program has begun that forces each Huntsman and Huntress to provide proof of at least one child to their name. For the purposes of the program they cannot use a child already claimed by another member of the program as that wouldn’t maintain or expand the population of Huntsmen or Huntresses. Without proof of child they are not allowed to participate in missions against the Grimm as that may risk them passing away before replacing their number.
