Mononoke: The Trilogy RPG!

The world of Mononoke is one of exquisite beauty and suffocating dread, where elaborate traditional Japanese architecture, vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and dreamlike imagery contrast with disturbing supernatural occurrences and the ugliness hidden beneath respectable appearances. Behind the walls of noble households, crowded towns, secluded inns, and the imperial Ōoku lie secrets that people would rather bury than confront.

The Ōoku, the secluded inner chambers of the imperial palace, is a particularly dangerous place, governed by rigid hierarchies, strict etiquette, political maneuvering, and generations of deeply rooted traditions. Its residents navigate a world where reputation can determine one’s fate, loyalty can become a weapon, and even the smallest transgression may have devastating consequences. Beneath its polished surface, resentment festers, rivalries flourish, and the suffering of those without power is often concealed for the sake of appearances.
