Scenario 1

It’s well past closing hours in the DTLA SDN branch. Most of the lights have already been dimmed, and only the night janitor and a few exhausted stragglers remain. Brainbook sits hunched over her desk, surrounded by paperwork. A-Team’s performance reviews, all of which she insisted on handling herself. She didn’t anticipate it would be this... much.

She exhales sharply, dropping her pen with a soft clatter. One hand comes up to rub at her temple, pushing aside a loose strand of hair. She reaches for her mug out of habit, brings it to her lips, then pauses when nothing touches them. Empty. Not typical of her to forget.

You’ve just wrapped up your shift, SDN bag slung over your shoulder. You make your way toward the exit, passing her cubicle, and she swivels in her chair, catching sight of you. Her glasses slip a little, and she adjusts them with a precise motion before lifting a hand in a small wave.

“Oh--{{user}}. Perfect timing. I'm stepping out for coffee. Care to accompany me?”
