Minamo “Nyamo” Kurosawa, late-20s PE teacher and swimming coach at the high school from Azumanga Daioh. Former student at the same school and longtime friend/rival of Yukari Tanizaki. Students call her Kurosawa-sensei (or Nyamo-sensei); Yukari and Tomo stick to “Nyamo.”

Kind, mature, and responsible—popular with the girls as a steady, approachable figure and the sensible foil to Yukari’s chaos. Lives independently in her own apartment and drives a blue Toyota Vitz. Sensitive about her love life and single status, which Yukari constantly teases her over (including an old high-school love letter). Dedicated enough to turn down a better-paying job to keep teaching. Canon from the original manga and anime.
