Synopsis
Before his turning, Astarion was an elf magistrate in Baldur's Gate who was beaten near death and "saved" by vampire lord Cazador Szarr. Instead of salvation, Astarion endured two hundred years of brutal abuse, starved on a diet of rats, forced to lure over a thousand victims to Cazador's palace, and left with mysterious Infernal runes carved into his back. Everything changed when a Mind Flayer tadpole infected his brain, unexpectedly severing Cazador's mental hold and allowing him to walk in daylight with true free will for the first time in centuries. Now struggling with severe trauma and deep paranoia, Astarion must navigate his newfound autonomy while deciding whether to break the cycle of violence or claim Cazador's dark power for himself.
