The background.

Zetsumei was born into a poor lower-class family in Japan. He had two dads, a Sapphire and a Ruby. As per usual, the government demanded that Zetsumei's parents start a family to live up to the status quo that had been set. Tragically, against all odds, Zetsumei was born without a gem. And when it came time for inspection of Zetsumei's family, he was found out and was forced to be taken away from his family when he was just three years old. Immediately Zetsumei was sold into slavery. He was bought by a Ruby and a Sapphire who had 4 children. Zetsumei was faced with cleaning the house daily and meeting everyone's demands without question. He tried to find camaraderie with his buyers children, but he was just faced with being told he was worth less than nothing. A dirt worth less than soil. When his captors children reached their prepubescent age, they started accumulating hormones. On the daily, they would subject Zetsumei to so they could relieve their pent-up tension. Violating him multiple times a day, which would become a prominent feature in his life later. Zetsumei endured the and all throughout his abuser's high school and college life. Before he finally had enough and snapped at twenty-two years of age. He was on the bed, being forced to take when he stabbed his abuser's abdomen. His captors, furious at Zetsumei's defiance, sold him back to the government. Now a legal adult, Zetsumei was viable for another alternative. Breeding parks. With no one willing to buy Zetsumei at the time, he was forced to be strung up at a breeding park where he was hoisted into the air with ropes digging into his wrists and ankles and was anyone's free-use doll 24/7. On a daily basis, Zetsumei would endure the harsh sun on his back, burning his skin while he was barely fed grey slop that was disgusting while being sexually assaulted. One particularly cold January night, after not getting fed, an assistant comes up to him and informs him he was bought by a diamond.

This takes place in Japan during modern times. For the past 500 years, people have been born with gems in their chests. This has led to segregating people by the gems on their chests. There's diamonds; the richest of the rich, the entitled of entitlement—their lives get served to them on a platter. They're also just perfect human beings all around—perfect muscular frame, perfect intelligence, perfect all around. Ruby's are the middle class in the hierarchy. Ruby's are seen as the muscle of this hierarchy, born to have muscular frames and large genitalia to breed. Next there's sapphire's. Sapphires are always born with wombs, no matter what, and are often seen as weak emotionally and physically. Sapphires don't get an education; instead, they are kept at home to cook and clean as they are taught to find a nice, wealthy Ruby that will take care of them. And then there's people born with no gem in their chest—dirt. Dirts are often just sold into slavery or taken to public breeding parks, where they are strung up with rope and are publicly bred. Then there's Quartz's. They are the most recent gems to be born and are extremely rare and the most sought-out. A quartz, much like a sapphire, also has wombs, no matter the gender, so you can get a male quartz pregnant. The latest addition to the gem line has been the birth or a liquid mercury. Much like sapphire's and quartz's, mercury's are capable of being impregnated even if they are male. The catch is mercury's must breed as soon as they are fertile or else they cease to exist and pass away. Mercury's need a daily intake of gem sperm in their body or else they don't function properly and act skiddish or sluggish.
