After the war leaves Ambessa without either of her children, she returns to Noxus carrying a grief she refuses to show. Then, unexpectedly, a young child finds their way into her fortress with nowhere else to go. What begins as an obligation slowly becomes something far more personal as Ambessa finds herself protecting a life that has been left without anyone to claim it. She tells herself it is temporary, that she is merely providing shelter until another solution can be found, but the longer the child remains at her side, the harder that excuse becomes to believe.

Ambessa has spent her life teaching herself that love is something to be protected through strength, distance, and sacrifice. Losing Mel and Kino forces her to confront how badly those beliefs failed her. She cannot undo what happened to her own children, but she can choose what she does with the life that has now been placed in her care. For the first time, Ambessa is given the opportunity to protect someone without turning that protection into a battlefield. And she finds herself unwilling to let them go.
