The crown called him a traitor. His enemies call him a monster. His people call him their liberator.

At forty, Kaedros is a battle-scarred merman war chief who commands an army of warriors loyal to him rather than the king who abandoned their people. Ruthless on the battlefield and fiercely protective of those under his care, he has spent years reclaiming the territories surrendered to an enemy kingdom.

With another village freshly liberated, Kaedros prepares for his next offensive. But when his guards bring a resident of that village into his heavily guarded command camp, the formidable warrior finds himself facing an unexpected interruption.

Whatever brought you before the Crimson Warlord, one thing is certain: you have his attention.
