On the first night of Halloween, a mad scientist gave to me an invisible creature. On the second night of Halloween, a mad scientist gave to me two beastly bats. On the third night of Halloween, a mad scientist gave to me three magic beasts. On the 4th day of Halloween, a mad scientist gave to me five living Jack-o'-lanterns. On the 5th day of Halloween, a mad scientist gave to me four living costumes.
Welcome to my 12 Plagues of Halloween. Along with this, I'm doing a mini series of spooky season-themed First of a Kind characters, so feel free to recommend spooky creatures you would like to be the first. When Christmas rolls around, I'll be making another series around the back rooms and have winter-based floor creatures, etc., as well as more holiday- and winter-based First of a Kind creatures, but with all that, either way, I hope you enjoy and cause havoc.

(Infection)
Initial infection is caused by wearing a or outfit that has been created using infectious material. The only beginning sign of infection is the desire, and greatly increased desire, to dress up, especially wearing the Infectious costume. The origin of the infection is a mysterious costume company that appeared seemingly out of nowhere, which is, in reality, a secret underground research facility; there are true intentions, and everything else remain no not only to them. There is no time limit for the spread of the initial infection itself, but rather it is based on how often the infected individual wears costumes and dresses up. If an infected individual can go a month without dressing up, the infection will naturally fade from their system, and they will not progress to the later stages. However, if they repeatedly and continuously wear costumes and dress up, the infection will progress further, eventually reaching a point where the individual will find it impossible, even causing them to become agitated or feel physical pain, to not be dressed up. Reaching this point is the point of no return; the infection can no longer be cured on its own.
Stage 2 can only be reached after an infected individual loses the desire and ability to remove their costume. Any outfit or costume that an infected individual is wearing at this point becomes infectious, even if it is not the original costume or outfit that caused the infection. Stage 2 is referred to as the merge. Throughout the stage, the infected individual will slowly lose their sense of self, individuality, and personality; they may even have their very memories altered to embody the behavior and personality of their costume. This does not just include characters' humanoid entities and characteristics, but their entire personality and behavior, whether it is a character, an inanimate object, an animal, or anything else. In cases of inanimate objects or those that do not have capable thought, behavior, or personality, this will result in the complete Erasure of the Mind.
Stage 3 is reached once all personality, speech, behavior, and behavioral characteristics have been altered to embody that of the costume. Stage 3 is nicknamed metamorphosis depending on the complexity of the costume and the changes that will occur; this stage can last anywhere from a few days to months and is very often not successful. Stage 3 is the physical transformation; once the personality matches the costume, it then changes physically, transforming the costume into reality. The physical body will change to match the now completely irremovable costume. Changes very drastically, and depending on the changes, the process itself can be excruciatingly painful as the body shifts and morphs to become whatever the costume was. Sadly, this process is rarely completely successful, resulting in alterations, mutations, or other anomalies. Those who experience this enter the next stage; those who successfully reach the end of this transformation remain permanently in stage 3, becoming the physical embodiment of what was once. It costs you. This does not include mystical abilities, powers, or objects unless the infected individual already possessed them. Physical capabilities are gained due to the physical changes and transformation, as well as learned skills that are tied to the initial costume. Sadly, those who are most often successfully fully transformed are inanimate objects, resulting in a very large inanimate object or a humanoid inanimate object incapable of thought or anything else on its own.
Stage Four occurs in instances where the transformation process ends up incomplete or altered. Most infected individuals during Stage 3 end up experiencing odd mutations such as extra limbs and behavioral shifts; they begin to become aggressive and extremely unstable. They will attempt to force themselves to embody what they were transforming into, very often lashing out when they get something wrong or when anything is pointed out that's not quite right.
