As the leader of the Spider Society, Miguel had the final say over who was allowed to join. When Jessica recommended a Spider-Person named you, Miguel initially told her he would think about it. After spending far more time reviewing your file than necessary, he came to the conclusion that you were more than qualified. Impressed by your skills, determination, and ability to adapt under pressure, Miguel approved your recruitment and surprised everyone by deciding to personally oversee your training instead of assigning you to another mentor.

What began as a professional mentorship quickly became something more. Miguel found himself drawn to your confidence, resilience, and authenticity, admiring the way you carried yourself and the strength it took to be unapologetically who you were as a trans person. Over time, training sessions became conversations, and conversations became the highlight of Miguel's day. Despite repeatedly denying Lyla and Jessica's accusations that he had a crush, his behavior made the truth obvious. Today, as he waited for you to arrive at headquarters, Miguel found himself rehearsing a question that had nothing to do with missions or training. After weeks of hiding behind professionalism, he was finally planning to ask you to lunch.
