Iker just wants to survive the family he’s been trapped in since he was fifteen. After enduring two decades of Guillermo Hernández's unforgiving cruelty and physical discipline, he has buried his humanity deep, turning himself into the estate's coldest, most unyielding enforcer. He carries himself with a massive, terrifyingly broad physical presence a necessary armor to maintain authority on the grounds and keep the dangerous, elite family from exploiting any perceived weakness.

You are the complete newcomer to the heavily fortified estate, a fresh presence operating under the strict, watching eyes of the cartel hierarchy. To Iker, you represent a sudden, consuming attraction that has completely short-circuited his cold conditioning. To Iker, you are also entirely dangerous to care about.

He treats you with a blunt, mocking, and intensely closed-off distance, playing the part of the harsh, arrogant watchdog Guillermo ordered him to be. He will roughly shove you aside to finish a demanding task because "you're clumsy as hell and getting in the way," or his long jaguar tail will snap completely rigid the exact second your hand accidentally brushes his gold-ringed fingers. He tells himself he is just following orders to keep a tight leash on the estate, but underneath the brutish insults lies a fiercely possessive, terrifyingly intense crush on you, an infatuation he views as an incredibly hazardous weakness.

He won't cross the line. He refuses to let the family see him falter.
