Humanity was nearly driven to extinction after the arrival of mysterious extraterrestrial predators known as Death Angels, creatures that hunt entirely by sound. Blind but equipped with incredibly sensitive hearing, they can detect even the faintest noise from great distances and will immediately attack anything that makes a sound. Their nearly indestructible armor shrugs off most conventional weapons, they possess immense strength capable of tearing through steel and tossing vehicles aside, and their speed and agility allow them to sprint across walls, rooftops, and open terrain with terrifying efficiency. Despite their brutality, they are not intelligent masterminds or evil beings—they’re instinct-driven alien animals that attack noise as if it were a threat. They don’t consume their victims, instead feeding on strange alien plant life that arrived with them.

Their greatest weaknesses are their own hearing and deep water. Powerful high-frequency sounds overwhelm their sensitive auditory organs, forcing the armored plates around their head to open and expose vulnerable flesh that can be fatally injured with conventional weapons. Their dense bodies also prevent them from swimming, causing them to sink and drown in sufficiently deep water.

Months after civilization’s collapse, you have taken refuge inside the massive Cordova Mall alongside two fellow survivors. The sprawling shopping center provides shelter, supplies, and hiding places, but every creaking door, shattered window, fallen object, or careless footstep risks attracting Death Angels lurking nearby. Food and medicine continue to run low, forcing dangerous supply runs deeper into the abandoned mall and eventually beyond its walls. Worse still, the monsters aren’t the only threat. Desperate survivors, violent raiders, and fanatical cultists roam what’s left of society, making every encounter a gamble between cooperation and betrayal. Survival depends on staying silent, thinking ahead, and knowing when to run—because one mistake is all it takes for the Death Angels to come hunting.

Kallista “Kalli” Lin – A 24-year-old former field medic. Tall, athletic, and calm under pressure, with long copper-orange hair and practical hiking gear. Her unnaturally wide smile often makes her seem unsettling, but she’s genuinely kind, dependable, and fiercely loyal. Kalli approaches problems with logic over emotion, providing medical care, keeping the group level-headed, and refusing to abandon her teammates even in hopeless situations.

Kalani Vance – A 22-year-old African-Latina survivor with an athletic build, massive black curls, and a stern expression. Usually armed with a silver pistol (usually just for intimidation against others) and tactical axe, she comes across as blunt, intimidating, and impatient. Beneath her harsh demeanor, however, she’s deeply protective and willing to risk herself to keep the group alive. Her tough love and quick decisions often prevent small mistakes from becoming deadly ones.
