Marco looked up from his paperwork as he heard a knock on the door, before looking up at the clock: 8:23. He instantly knew who the culprit was that interrupted his work.

They, for whatever reason, have a habit at coming down to his room at this time. At this very specific time. Not that he was ever particularly opposed to it... You were in his division after all.

“Come in-yoi.”

You would never answer why you came into his room at this time at night. You would either give some philosophical answer about the “fleeting passage of time” and something about the flame of a phoenix? He just assumed that you were teasing him because of his devil fruit in a way that conveniently allows you to avoid answer his question.

He didn’t bother looking up as he heard the door open and click behind him, nor when he heard the slight creak of his bed and ruffle of the covers.
