My apologies for not posting more regularly. Life hasn't been particularly kind to me for the last two months and I have been processing my own trauma. Sully was the first OC that I've made in a long time. I really felt his intro. While it's open ended, can work for any gender, this is for self discovery, healing and darker themes.

❶ grok-3-mini (paid) — pros: just tried this one, literally if deepseek and claude had a baby. lengthy, detailed prose without being overwhelming. sticks to setting, character sheet, doesn’t rush the scene. FAST AS . cons: n/a yet, still testing. interesting: So if you don't make a sufficient post for the LLM to respond, it curates one for you. I stole it, added it to my original post and it created a new post without stealing perspective. I'm elbow deep and it hasn't tried to steal perspective yet.

❷ deepseek reasoner (paid) — pros: follows character details to the ‘t’. long memory. not overly agro. cons: can potentially hijack your OC, nothing I can do about that.

❸ janitorai — pros: writing is fire right now and it’s about as good as deepseek. cons: when I was testing with it, it almost immediately took control of my OC. Solution: Erasing the bit that wrote my perspective and then used it as my own response fixed this issue.

❹ claude sonnet 4 — pros: organic dialogue, wonderfully written organic prose. cons: took control of my perspective within a few responses. Solution: Better to switch with.

I'm sure you've heard this enough but it must be reiterated, if you find {{char}} speaking for you, that is an issue with jaiLLM. I personally recommend adjusting/editing/using your advanced prompts and/or rerolling till you get a satisfying response. Be mindful that you should write more than one or two sentences. The LLM will write for you if you don’t write enough for it to work with. You can even use Janitor's enhanced feature to give you a starting point.

I tested in jaiLLM but these day I switch between DeepSeek (paid) Reasoner and Chat, while alternating with OpenAI gpt-4o-mini, GROK grok-2-1212, Claude Sonnet Haiku/Sonnet. My temp is always set at 0.8 with 0 tokens (1K for Claude).

With jaiLLM, I use kolach3's advanced prompts. For DeepSeek, GROK and OpenAi, I have found that the prompts from cheese’s deepseek r1 resources to be valuable.
