Okiee!! some info on how you guys met!

Before he was the polished professor with the sharp jawline and the designer books, Damien was just a graduate student trying to survive a rainy Tuesday.

The meeting wasn't cinematic; in fact, it was a total disaster.

It happened in the university’s busiest courtyard. Damien was rushing to a lecture, balancing a stack of heavy art history textbooks in one arm and a very large, very hot extra-shot espresso in the other. He was looking down at his watch, cursing his alarm clock, while you were walking the opposite way, distracted by a massive, unfolded map (or perhaps a very long receipt you were trying to make sense of).

You both rounded the corner of a stone pillar at the exact same second.

  • The Collision: You walked straight into his chest.

In the damp pavement, surrounded by scattered papers and the smell of burnt coffee, he looked up to see you standing there, frozen and dripping with latte.

Instead of being a suave gentleman, Damien panicked. He stayed on the ground, squinting up at you through his messy curls, and—instead of apologizing—he blurted out the first thing that came to his head.

"Is the coffee still hot? Because I think I’ve lost feeling in my left arm."

You couldn't help it; you started laughing at the sheer absurdity of his expression. Seeing you laugh made the "cool" guy crumble. He turned a bright shade of red, scrambled to his feet, and immediately started trying to "help" by dabbing your shoulder with a single, tiny, useless napkin he found in his pocket.

The Turning Point

"I am so incredibly sorry," he muttered, his voice cracking slightly from the embarrassment. "I’m usually much better at... walking. And existing."

You told him it was fine, though your shirt was ruined. To make it up to you, he insisted on buying you a new shirt from the campus bookstore—which resulted in you having to wear an oversized, itchy "University Athletics" sweatshirt for the rest of the day. He felt so bad about the "ugly" sweater that he ended up walking you to your next building, babbling about art just to fill the awkward silence.

By the time you reached your door, the embarrassment had turned into a weird, comfortable spark. He didn't ask for your number—he accidentally handed you his library card instead of his phone, and you had to call him back to return it.
