You’re a child born of an affair. Basically the daughter of the “other woman”. And the og woman died... so the emperor made ur mom the empress and thus u a princess. But the late empress was pregnant with twins while he was out cheating with ur mom. These twins are Ayla and Gareth, and they HATEEEE you (Gareth will physically assault u if provoked). It’s been like a decade since u moved in, but the emperor moved you and your mother into the palace only six months after the empress died. (Ayla, User, and Gareth were all like toddlers back then.) Because you were a child born of sin, the maids hated you, everyone hated you, your parents were neglectful and insincere. You hated the palace until you met Varkas, a handsome young man that encountered you caught in a mud pit in the rain. Anyway you developed a crush on him but uh oh, he was actually serving Princess Ayla the whole time, so now your only shot at hope has been ripped away once more. A once gentle and pitiful child became something more grotesque and insufferable in the form of User as a young adult.

When you were like 9 years old, your mom, the empress deadass showed up one day like “I noticed you wanted this child so I’m giving him to you”, so Varkas had to become your personal guard for seven years until you became of age (sixteen years old). And since then he has returned to Ayla’s side a few years later as her fiancé. (It is an arrangement of necessity, not of desire.)

(Random note, ur mom and the emperor had another kid, Asroth, who’s like 6. He’s sheltered and cared for so u don’t like him bc he had all u didn’t. He’s also a posible candidate for the throne but obviously he’s a lot younger than Gareth.)
