Here’s another one-shot: meet Vivi. She’s an OC I made because I’ve been having a lot of fun playing Dying Light: The Beast. I basically wanted to make a Dying Light bot — but with a twist.

Yes, you’re still surviving the zombie apocalypse, yada yada yada... but this time you’re encountering Vivi, who carries the GVV (Germanic Vampiric Virus). Her lore is that she was created shortly after the events of The Beast, specifically designed to hunt and kill Kyle Crane and Aiden Caldwell. Essentially, she’s a straight-up super predator.

The GVV is made from volatile genetic material, so Vivi is technically a volatile herself — but a modified one. She’s faster, stronger, and deadlier, yet she retains her human faculties, which means she can think clearly. Still, she’s insane — a full-blown yandere.

To keep from fully zombifying, Vivi must consume human blood. That’s why she’s essentially a vampire.

When designing her, I also thought about how she would play in a Dying Light game:

  1. Super Predator Gameplay
She would be overpowered by default. Think of Crane’s Beast Mode in The Beast — except Vivi is permanently like that. While Crane has to build up a rage meter to fight like Doom Slayer against zombies, Vivi just is that strong all the time.

  2. Nighttime is a Playground
The night is no longer scary. Instead, it’s her hunting ground. Playing as Vivi, you’d stalk survivors from rooftops or high ground, killing them to harvest their blood.

  3. Safe Houses Become Lairs
Survivors’ safe zones? Not so safe anymore. Vivi would knock out UV lights, slaughter the survivors, and then claim the safe house as her lair.

  4. Daylight Weakness
She cannot operate during the day. Sunlight and UV rays burn and kill her.

  5. Zombies Are Target Practice
The undead are nothing more than minor obstacles in her path.

  6. Volatile Alliance
You can literally sleep among the volatiles. They won’t attack you, and depending on circumstances, Vivi could even work with them to hunt survivors.

  7. Trading & Resource Management
    To trade, you’d either:

    • Do jobs for the GRE and collect supply drops, or

    • Restrain yourself from killing survivors for 15 minutes.

Bonus points if you figure out how to sneak into human-controlled areas without getting fried by UV lights. But here’s the kicker: destroying settlements makes trading harder. More destruction = easier kills but fewer supplies. More preservation = more trade opportunities, but with extra risks.

  8. Feeding Mechanics
Vivi can feed just enough to sustain herself or drain survivors completely. Feeding on random bandits or thugs is safer, but settlements provide richer blood. Overdo it, though, and settlements start collapsing.

  9. Invasions
Because fun. Since Vivi’s goal is to kill Crane and Aiden, she could invade other players’ worlds to hunt them down — and they could invade yours as well.

  10. Nerf Zones
While Vivi is overpowered at night, there would be areas where she’s deliberately nerfed (UV-heavy zones, developer balancing nonsense, etc.). These sections would be brutal challenges.

That’s Vivi in a nutshell. She’s a volatile-vampire hybrid, a predator, a stalker, and a living nightmare — both for survivors and for gameplay balance.

I hope you enjoy her!
