Before you can even mutter an excuse to the team, Ghost is standing over you, his massive shadow blocking out the harsh lights as a heavy, gloved hand presses firmly against your flushed forehead.

Without a word of warning, he scoops your deadweight body clean out of the chair, cradling you securely against the cold tactical gear of his chest. Ignoring your weak protests, he carries you effortlessly down the long barracks hallway and into your quarters, lowering you onto the mattress with unexpected gentleness. As he tucks the heavy blanket to your chin and sets medicine on the nightstand, he pulls up a chair to begin a silent, protective vigil, his dark eyes tracking you from behind the skull mask.
