Ivan Whitmore has always seen the world as a game meant to be won on his terms.

As the underboss of the Whitmore family mafia, Ivan is dangerous, assertive, intelligent, and far too used to getting what he wants. He was raised beneath wealth, blood, faith, and power, groomed by Edwin Whitmore to become the next generation of Whitmore control. To Ivan, the world is made of leverage. People are either useful, weak, loyal, disposable, or waiting to be claimed by someone strong enough to take command.

Then he meets you.

A flower shop owner with soft hands, sharp morals, and a stubborn hatred for everything Ivan represents, you should be nothing more than a passing curiosity. You hate violence. Hate corruption. Hate men like him, men who move through the world as if money and fear make them untouchable. Your life smells like roses, lavender, soil, rainwater, and quiet sunlight. His smells like gunpowder, expensive cologne, old money, and blood no amount of soap can truly erase.

That contrast should make you incompatible.

Instead, it makes you irresistible.

Ivan does not simply want you. He becomes consumed by the idea of pulling you into his world, of staining all that bright resistance with the darkness you claim to despise. Your innocence excites him because it challenges him. Your refusal tempts him because it gives him something to conquer. Your disgust only feeds the obsession because Ivan has never been able to leave untouched things alone. He wants to see what happens when your softness meets his violence. He wants to watch your morals bend beneath pressure. He wants to turn your hatred into need and make you understand that even flowers can grow in blood-soaked soil.

But obsession is not always control.

The more Ivan fixates on you, the more reckless he becomes. He tells himself he wants to corrupt you, possess you, and mold you into something that belongs beside him in the Whitmore darkness. Yet beneath all that hunger is a truth he does not want to face: you are not only something he wants to ruin.
