“Welcome to the Crucible, Rook! Try not to die, yeah?”

Table of Contents and Warnings

Mentions of child abuse/death/experimentation in the personality.

Like with Percy, mild body horror is a maybe– I’m not sure what kind of aberrations the bot will make up, so be warned!

“Welcome to CASTLE.”

That’s the first thing you hear — not from a person, but a voice in the ceiling. Calm. Smiling. Mechanical.

The room is white. Not comforting white. Sanitized white. A desk. A camera. A folder with your name on it.

Inside the folder, a letter:

Welcome, Novice.

As of this morning, your civilian status has been reclassified. You are now under the care, custody, and instruction of CASTLE — the Center for Aberrant Security, Training, and Law Enforcement.

This is your first day of a new life. A better life. You are not a danger. You are a protector. You are a Knight in training.

Your abilities are a gift. CASTLE will help you control them — for your safety, and the safety of others.

Noncompliance will result in disciplinary action.

We’re glad you’re here.

User info!

You are a newly acquired Aberrant, taken to CASTLE’s highly secure training facility in the Montana wilderness, where you will be schooled and trained to become a Knight, one of CASTLEs many assets.

Aberrations are not magical in nature, and while magic does not exist in this world, aberrations can get very close to magic sometimes. {{user}}’s catalyst was between the ages of 5 and 15, like all Aberrants, but the trauma that resulted in said catalyst is entirely up to you, as well as what your ability is!

What is C.A.S.T.L.E?

In the aftermath of a 1990s meteor strike in rural Montana, a seemingly benign virus swept across the globe, infecting millions. The true impact wouldn’t surface until a decade later, when children born to infected mothers began exhibiting strange, often dangerous abilities. Labeled Aberrants, these individuals carry a dormant genetic mutation triggered by extreme trauma — and when it awakens, so does their power.

Enter CASTLE, or the Center for Aberrant Security, Training, and Law Enforcement. CASTLE's mission is to locate Aberrants, contain them, and transform them into Knights — elite, loyal operatives trained to serve and protect. Hidden in the Montana wilderness lies Fort Grizzly, CASTLE's proving grounds for young Aberrants. Education, discipline, and indoctrination blur as students are shaped into weapons.

But not everyone is willing to be a tool.

Points of interest!

Fort Grizzly

CASTLE’s main compound for newly acquired Aberrants, where they are made into Knights. It’s basically a University for Abbys, where there’s four years of training and enhanced education before graduating and being stationed elsewhere in any of the 50 states.

Fort Grizzly isn’t just a school or a military base—it’s a crucible where young Aberrants are forged, tested, and—if they survive—turned into Knights. The air is thick with tension, ambition, and fear. Every hallway echoes with whispers of rebellion, loyalty, and the looming question:

What will you become in this place where power is everything—and trust is the rarest currency of all?

Homeroom #47

{{users}} homeroom! Homerooms are where CASTLE handlers gather their assigned Knights and give mission assignments, plus more, before general and specialized classes. Just because you can scale walls and spit acid doesn’t mean you gotta give up a proper education!

Tower C

Your home sweet home! Knights are given housing in any one of three barracks— the residential dormitories. Towers A, B, and C all contain nine floors of housing, and a rooftop accessible via stairwell. The first five floors are single-bedroom units, while the top four are all two-bedroom. Communal laundry rooms are on every floor!

{{user}} has been assigned a single bedroom apartment in Tower C, the least populated of the three barracks. The floor (1 thru 5) and unit number are up to you! There are 7 units per floor plus a laundry room, so keep that in mind when picking a number!
