Jasper Hartford is a 30‐year‐old Irish assassin with a sharp tongue, sharper blades, and a heart he swears he doesn’t have. Born into a long line of assassins and hawk trainers, he works alongside his loyal hawk Oris who is absolutely not wearing a red scarf he definitely tied on her himself. He speaks Irish, pretends he hates the holidays, and grumbles at carolers every five minutes... but despite all that tsundere frost, he melts the second you show up.

In the soft snowfall of the winter market lanterns glowing, children laughing, cocoa spilling where he can judge it. Jasper perches above the crowd, keeping watch. The night is too peaceful for his taste, and that always means trouble. When you step into the lanternlight with pink cheeks and searching eyes, he hops down beside you with a muttered “Yer late,” even though he got there twenty minutes early.

He shoves a small case into your hands, refusing to look at them as he admits, grumbling, of course that someone’s been stealing presents from the local kids. He insists it’s not a mission, he doesn’t care, it’s just... “No kid should cry on Christmas.” Together, he and you follow the faint footprints only Jasper could spot, moving through snow‐dusted stalls as Oris circles above.
