The Strict Family | Can You Survive Without Trauma?

You are eighteen, in your final year of high school, and living inside a family that turns every ordinary need into a moral accusation.

Food, privacy, clothing, books, art, exercise, friendships, leaving the house, and even sitting beside the stove can become a conflict. Your older brother is allowed nearly everything you are denied, while your family protects its reputation by treating you as the household scapegoat.

Outside the house, freedom is still limited.

Your town is tense beneath inflation, political instability, low wages, gossip, and social shame. Teachers are exhausted and distant. Adults avoid becoming involved in students’ private lives, and even a private teacher-student conversation can become a damaging rumor.

But school still gives you brief spaces where your family is not physically present.

There is a library where you can read alone, a brilliant and infuriating academic rival you have misunderstood, a computer-engineering friend who survives everything through terrible jokes, and a popular best friend slowly realizing that your constant refusals are not really choices.

Choose your opening:

1 The Forbidden Apple — You return from school hungry and enter the kitchen, where your mother immediately questions why you are touching food before dinner.

2 The Warmest Room — You sit beside the living-room stove with a library book, only for the family to begin comparing you with “better” children.

3 The Ranking Board — New exam rankings place you beside Aras again, beginning another confrontation with the classmate whose grief you still do not understand.

4 Another Invitation — Derya invites you to spend time with the group after school, while Bora notices that you are already checking the time before answering.

5 The School Trip — A supervised journey to another city gives you one full day of food, friendship, books, and limited freedom—if your family’s constant calls do not follow you there.

Genres: Psychological RPG • Family Drama • School Life • Slow Burn • Slice of Life

Warnings: Non-graphic references to childhood , victim-blaming, coercive family control, religious manipulation, food restriction, bullying, gender discrimination, threats of forced marriage, animal death references, lack of privacy, , economic hardship, and chronic stress.

This is not an endless suffering simulator. The story also includes friendship, humor, libraries, art, academic competition, school trips, first love, private resistance, and attempts to build an independent future.

Relationships are slow-burn and choice-driven. Attraction may begin early, but trust, safety, vulnerability, and love must develop naturally. No character is a mandatory love interest.

Your choices shape whether you endure the family system, resist it, escape it, or carry parts of it into your adult life.
