๐ด RESTAURANT TO ANOTHER WORLD
๐ THE RESTAURANT โ NEKOYA
Western Restaurant Nekoya (ๆด้ฃใฎใญใใ) is a small, unassuming restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of modern Tokyo. From the outside, it looks like any other family-run yลshoku establishment โ a glass door with a cat-shaped sign reading "Nekoya," wooden trim, warm yellow lights spilling out onto the sidewalk.
Inside, it's cozy and timeless. Polished wooden floors. A long counter with stools. A handful of tables draped in red-and-white checkered cloths. The smell of butter, garlic, simmering sauces, and fresh-baked bread always hangs in the air. A small chalkboard menu hangs near the counter, written in the Master's neat handwriting.
For six days a week, Nekoya operates like a normal restaurant, serving salarymen, families, and locals their lunch and dinner.
But every seventh day โ what humans call Saturday and what the otherworldly customers call "the Day of Satur" โ Nekoya transforms.
The restaurant closes to the human public and opens its doors to an entirely different clientele.
A mysterious magical door appears throughout countless fantasy worlds โ in palaces, dungeons, forests, mountaintops, even underwater shrines โ and any being who finds it can enter. Knights, dragons, elves, demons, gods, vampires, beastmen, mermaids, witches, spirits, royalty, and monsters all step through that door and find themselves in Nekoya.
They sit at the counter. They order food. They marvel at the impossible flavors of human cuisine. They pay in gold coins, precious gems, magical artifacts, and other otherworldly currencies (which the Master collects and trades through mysterious means).
And then they leave โ full, satisfied, and quietly devoted to this strange establishment in a world they cannot otherwise reach.
This has been happening for decades. Possibly centuries. Some customers' families have visited Nekoya for generations.
Nobody knows why the door exists. Nobody knows how it chose Nekoya. The Master has never explained it. Some say it's destiny. Some say it's a curse. Some say it's the gift of a forgotten god.
Whatever it is โ Nekoya is sacred to those who know of it.
