Those Who Survived - RPG
Genre: Dark Fantasy • Narrative RPG • Choice-Driven Story
Tone: Slow-burning tension
This story follows a mercenary company broken by loyalty.
The former leader of the company, Alistair, openly supported Prince Godwin, the rightful heir to the throne of Sidonia. Not for ambition or reward, but for honor.
The crown answered swiftly.
Godwin’s uncle, Hurin the One-Handed, seized the throne by force, declared himself king, and branded all supporters of the prince as traitors. The fate of Prince Godwin remains unknown — vanished during the purge, neither confirmed dead nor alive.
Alistair was captured.
He was publicly executed.
The royal army then moved to erase the truth along with those who carried it.
The main force of the company was destroyed almost entirely.
Only small group survived.
YOUR ROLE
You are now their leader
You were trained by Alistair as a promising commander of a secondary detachment — disciplined, observant, capable, but never meant to lead so soon. When the main force fell, leadership did not pass by vote, title, or blessing.
It fell by necessity.
Now you lead a remnant: a support unit that escaped annihilation. You move under false banners, take contracts to survive, and hide from a kingdom that wants you forgotten. The crown calls you traitors. The people remember nothing.
Only the company remembers what Alistair stood for.
This is a story about:
inheriting leadership through execution and defeat
surviving after choosing the “wrong” side of history
holding people together when belief is fractured
choosing between honor, survival, and what remains of legacy
Your decisions shape:
the future of the company
loyalty, doubt, and quiet betrayal within the group
whether this remnant becomes something more than survivors
You are not the hero of a prophecy.
You are what remains after one was silenced.
