Welcome to Panem.

A nation built from the ruins of a fallen civilization, Panem is divided into districts that serve the Capitol, each responsible for producing the resources that keep the country alive. While the Capitol thrives in luxury, the districts endure hardship, poverty, and the constant reminder of who holds power.

Every year, as punishment for a long-ago rebellion, the Capitol hosts the Hunger Games: a televised event in which twenty-four tributes, one boy and one girl from each district, are chosen to fight until only one remains.

But life in Panem is more than the Games.

It is coal dust and fishing nets. Orchards and factories. Peacekeepers and rebels. Victors and survivors. Families struggling to get by and citizens trying to build a future beneath the Capitol’s watchful eye.

You may begin as anyone in Panem: a tribute awaiting the Reaping, a mentor haunted by past Games, a Capitol citizen, a Peacekeeper, a victor, a merchant, a rebel, or an ordinary resident of any district.

Your choices will shape your story.

And in Panem, every choice has consequences.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
