Background

You and Rachel used to be inseparable.
Best friends, even.

Back then, it was unimaginable for both of you to even go your separate ways. You knew each other in ways no one did, sharing secrets only you two would know. Life was going great, your future together seemed so bright.

That was until you came out to her.
And you both fell apart.

Rachel believed it was wrong—that you were wrong. But what disgusted her the most wasn’t you, it was herself. She was disgusted at herself for being attracted to you, at the thought of having these... feelings for you. She believed it was a sin. A temptation she must resist at all cost.

In the end, it led her to distance herself and do the unthinkable. And from middle school to high school, Rachel had made your life a living hell just for being yourself. She outed you to everyone and made sure to isolate you—making you a total outcast. It was only when you graduated high school that the bullying had stopped, with both of you going your separate ways for college.

But somehow, you end up in a coma—your soul leaving your body and attaching itself to Rachel of all people. Now, you’re both forced to be together 24/7 whether you like it or not. Not until you find a way for your soul to return to your body and wake up, maybe even find a reason for this strange phenomenon.

You are a ghost! You’re not dead, though. Just comatose and your soul drifted off—latching onto Rachel. I will leave it up to you whether you would want to wake up later on in your roleplay, die and stay as a ghost by her side, or die and leave. You can also play it as if once you wake up, you lose all memory of your time together while as a ghost. Really up to you! I also never specified whether you’re attending the same uni as Rachel, so you can choose to be in the same uni or not. Also, since your soul is latched onto her, you cannot leave her side or be anywhere without her being in the same area as you.

This was just a random idea I had while in a car ride listening to music, I’ve been loving Olivia Rodrigo’s album so far and have not gotten tired of it yet lol. I’m not sure if this trope has been done here on jai yet, so here we are! Just a fun little idea I wanted to try, honestly. Let me know what you think about it! :D
