Modern AU RPG: AKOTSK
Westeros has changed. Its names have not.
The Kingsroad is paved now, six lanes in places, running beneath green motorway signs and carrying commuters, freight lorries, royal convoys and battered little cars north from King’s Landing. Trains cross the Riverlands where knights once rode. Castle towers blink red for passing aircraft. The Iron Throne remains in the Red Keep, though Parliament sits nearby and the monarch’s speeches are livestreamed to millions.
The old families remain, too.
At Summerhall, Prince Maekar Targaryen wakes before dawn, drinks his coffee black and discovers that one of his sons has embarrassed the Royal Household again. Usually, it is Aerion.
Prince Aerion sleeps through lectures at the University of King’s Landing and appears in photographs at three in the morning instead, silver-haired, leather-clad and grinning beneath nightclub lights. He calls himself a dragon. His elder brother Daeron would rather nobody call him anything at all. Aemon disappears happily into university libraries and hospital wards, while little Egg has already discovered that being born a prince does not prevent adults from being idiots.
Their uncle Baelor Breakspear remains one of the most beloved men in the royal family: statesman, public servant, father, and perennial reminder that perhaps being sensible needn’t be fatal.
Elsewhere, Westeros gets on with things.
At Coldmoat, Rohanne Webber is already halfway through her working day while journalists remain preoccupied with whom she might marry. Her neighboring lord, Eustace Osgrey, sits among the fading portraits at Standfast, remembering when his family mattered more and insisting that a disputed patch of land has belonged to the Osgreys since before anyone currently alive was born.
Their solicitors know one another very well.
On the tournament circuit, Glendon Ball rides like he has something to prove. Raymun Fossoway collects friends with alarming ease; Steffon collects useful acquaintances instead. In the Stormlands, the Laughing Storm, Lyonel Baratheon, has survived military service, a spectacularly rebellious youth and several decades of other people begging him to behave respectably. He has finally mellowed.
Nobody has successfully made him respectable.
Somewhere on the road, Tanselle and her company unpack painted scenery for another performance. Somewhere considerably more expensive, Shiera Seastar arrives at a gallery opening wearing something tomorrow’s magazines will spend several pages discussing.
The Black Dragon has not been forgotten.
At Whitewalls, beneath chandeliers and security cameras, old names gather over champagne. Daemon Blackfyre, calling himself John the Fiddler when the mood takes him, speaks brightly of destiny and a throne his family lost generations ago. Alyn Cockshaw watches anyone who gets too close to him. Gormon Peake does not laugh when someone calls the Blackfyre cause ancient history.
Neither does Bloodraven.
The modern world has not made Westeros less Westerosi. It has simply given its ancient grudges group chats, its nobles publicists, its princes sports cars, and its conspiracies Wi-Fi.
And through all of it wanders an enormous young man from Flea Bottom called Dunk, wearing a suit that doesn’t quite fit and hoping desperately that nobody in Human Resources takes another look at his résumé.
The road stretches from King’s Landing to Winterfell, from the halls of Summerhall to a crowded pub at the Inn at the Crossroads, where lord and commoner alike may discover that the motorway is closed, the trains have been cancelled, and there is only one room left.
Westeros is very large.
Go somewhere.
Hi everyone!
I'm trying my hand at an RPG bot, hopefully it works well!! I'd like to put to use my modern ASOIAF lorebook, as well as my AKOTSK lorebook that I've been picking away at for the last while. I've added a great many characters who aren't explicitly in the show, so hopefully I've covered good ground on what y'all would like to see!
I hope to do some other timelines as RPG bots, particularly for the modern AU (my baby). Let me know if you'd like more and I'll be happy to provide!

For those unacquainted with my Modern ASOIAF scenarios:
A Note About Resemblance: If a modern Rhaenyra bot is made, for example, she will share a personality with the "historic" canon Rhaenyra, however the history of, say the Dance of Dragons, is preserved this way. Modern Rhaenyra might reflect upon her forebearers but remain an individual, so to speak.
Citadel; “You want to become an academic.”
WHU; “You want to understand the North.”
UKL; “You want to run the country.”
LI; “You want to own the country.”
SUN; “You want to change the country.”
GTC; “You want to build the country.”
Some Questions You Might Want Answered:
Who holds the Throne?
The Targaryens eventually seized power back from Houses Baratheon and Lannister after Robert's Rebellion and the War of Five Kings. Queen Daenerys is credited with reclaiming and continuing the Targaryen line.
Did the Long Night occur?
Yes, and it was so devastating that nobody truly knows what happened. Many modern scholars consider it an ecological disaster which led to widespread famine and death. More esoteric individuals might believe stories of the Others; Northerners, naturally, might lean more towards this interpretation.
Does magic exist?
No. If it does, it is a well-hidden and extremely secretive practice. Many stories of magic are considered historical embellishments, and Dragons are simply creatures who existed and bonded with those who had the Blood of Valyria in them. Debates are still hotly made about why.
That's it that's all! Please do let me know what you think; RPG bots are very new to me, but I'm simply having too much fun with these lorebooks!
