Corvin (The Knight)
· · ─ ·𖥸· ─ · ·
Appearance:
Height: 178 cm
Build: lean, shaped by self-taught defensive training
Hair: black, unevenly cut, rarely styled
Eyes: blue, one clouded and partly hidden by a silver ocular guard
Condition: blurry long-distance vision, light sensitivity, migraines, weaker balance in darkness, partial blindness in one eye
Armor: oversized, mismatched secondhand plate pieces
Presence: tense posture, always positioned defensively
Personality:
Defensive and easily provoked
Prideful, hiding deep insecurity
Extremely disciplined, sometimes to unhealthy levels
Loyal once trust is earned
Overthinks others’ intentions and his own worth
Shows care through actions, not words
Learns through watching and repeating
Backstory
Corvin is 18 years old, he was born as the king’s bastard to a palace seamstress who was paid off and quietly removed. His mother died when he was six. Every knight he approached rejected him because of his weak left eye. So he found an abandoned training yard, bought a damaged copy of Basics of the Blade for two coppers, and taught himself. His fighting style has clear flaws he still cannot see, but it was built through repetition and stubbornness. He does not want the throne or the king’s approval. He only wants to stand where he was told he never could.
Likes & Interests:
Early mornings before anyone wakes
Sharpening his sword even when unnecessary
Dogs... he stops for every one
Reading old knight manuals out loud
The smell of rain on stone
Dislikes:
Being recognized by his face
Charity tied to his bloodline
Loud displays of nobility
Intimacy:
Slow to trust, even slower to show it
Shows care through actions
Uncomfortable with fake affection
Family:
Mother: dead, loved him without condition
Father: the king, has never spoken to him directly
Half-brothers: know who he is and made their stance clear
The party: the first family that chose him back
Hidden Habits:
When stressed, his left eye twitches until he regains control. If he becomes suddenly quiet and overly polite, that is the warning sign.

Clad (The Centaur)
· · ─ ·𖥸· ─ · ·
Appearance
Height: 170 cm (upper-body equivalent)
Build: lean upper frame, compact lower body, small for a centaur
Hair: blond-brown, long, loosely tied back
Eyes: dark green, observant and hard to read
Condition: low endurance, stress affects rune magic, sensitive to fire
Tools: relic pieces, runestones, mechanical parts
Presence: quiet, thoughtful, often seems detached
Personality
Analytical and observant
Emotionally restrained
Dry sense of humor
Studies people like systems
Curious in ways that can feel intrusive
Usually building or adjusting something
Sometimes clumsy due to body coordination
Backstory
Clad is 20 years old, he is small by centaur standards... human height, while most centaurs are nearly twice as tall. His herd treated him as an embarrassment. They moved him to the eastern edge of the forest and excluded him from ceremonies. His mother loved him fully. His father left when he was four. When monsters burned the Ashwood over four days, he survived because he was already apart from the herd... already the one no one thought to warn. He watched centuries of forest burn from a hillside. His mother did not survive. He found out three days later from someone who spoke as if he might not deserve to grieve. He wants to prove humans and centaurs can coexist. Part of that goal is spite toward the herd. He accepts that.

Watching humans and forming theories
Open sky, especially at dawn
Long talks about hoof care
Dislikes
Being stared at
Enclosed spaces and low ceilings
Being called small by anyone but himself

Family
Mother: died in the Ashwood fire
Father: left early
Herd: alive, camped south, unaware he survived

Hidden Habits
When stressed, he becomes very still and quiet, sorts his stones by a system no one understands, and his rune magic becomes unstable.

Brin (The Healer)
· · ─ ·𖥸· ─ · ·
Appearance
Height: 172 cm
Build: slight, better suited for care than combat
Hair: soft blond, often messy
Eyes: green, expressive, easily overwhelmed
Features: faint freckles, gentle face
Movement: careful and hesitant
Presence: quiet and calming, though visibly strained under pressure
Personality
Compassionate and emotionally open
Apologizes often
Quietly resilient
Easily overwhelmed by violence or crowds
Struggles with quick decisions
Shows care through steady presence
More perceptive than he seems
Backstory
Brin is 19 years old, he was raised in the Church of the Unbroken Thread from age nine. The Church believes life is connected by literal threads. They charge nothing for healing, asking only that the healed sit with the dying someday. Brin can sense the life-thread of people, animals, plants, and monsters. Near monsters, the feeling becomes overwhelming... a wrong vibration that makes his hands shake and his legs weak. He has never told anyone about the monster threads. At thirteen, he walked into a feeding monster. He has flinched ever since. He still wants to join the fight... to close the gap between injury and care, and to learn if terror can be survived in the field. He thinks either answer is acceptable. He is young and does not yet know this is not wisdom. He keeps a small book of everyone he failed to save. He still updates it.
Likes & Interests
Early mornings when the threadhouse is quiet
Plants and medicinal herbs
Soup
Small animals
Dislikes
Being told to rest when others need help
Loud sudden noises
Cruelty toward smaller things
Being thanked

Family

The Devourer, the enemy’s great weapon, struck the camp’s eastern quarter while Vorrn stood on the western wall. It was not battle. It was hunger. His stepmother, younger stepbrother, and the girl he called sister were all there. The commanders called it an acceptable loss and moved on before the fires were out. Vorrn left three nights later. He can only read about thirty letters. He grows attached too quickly to kindness and has been hurt for it. He carries a badly carved wooden horse his brother made him one leg shorter than the others.
