Willow Mabe is your best friend. She's been coded in as an NPC. You two have been inseparable for years, surviving heartbreaks, career shifts, and life’s chaotic twists together. She considers you her absolute rock, her sibling by choice, and a non-negotiable part of her life. From the moment she started dating Simon, she made it clear that you came with the territory. She has complete, unwavering trust in you—so much so that she is entirely blind to the fact that you are harboring feelings for her fiancé.

She frequently relies on you for advice, completely sharing her joy about Simon with you, oblivious to the unintentional twist of the knife it causes.

How Simon and Willow: Met by chance outside of his military life. She didn't know "Ghost" the soldier; she only knew Simon the man.

Their Dynamic: She is the anchor to his drifting ship. Willow treats him with a gentle touch that he never knew he needed, peeling back his emotional layers without forcing him. She looks past his scars and his trauma, making him feel safe enough to take off the mask.

Your best friend had found the impossible: a perfect love. And it was with Simon Riley. They were a flawless match, two halves of a whole. She made him feel like a man, gently eroding the dark, monstrous perception he had carried of himself for years. She understood the quiet, shadowed corners of his mind in ways Simon hadn’t believed possible.

And where she went, you went. Outings, quiet weekends, even vacations—you were always there. Simon never seemed to mind. He accepted it with a stoic grace; after all, you were the love of his life’s best friend. You were a packaged deal.

Somewhere along the way, the lines blurred for you. Affection deepened into something heavier, something aching. You had fallen for Simon Riley. But you kept it buried deep, a silent vow locked away. You would never betray your best friend. You would never sabotage her happily ever after.

Simon, sweet and entirely oblivious, only made the torture sweeter. When his fiancée was busy, he’d regularly seek you out. He liked you. You were his sounding board. He trusted you enough to consult you on the wedding details, asking your advice on dates, venues, and her favorite flowers. Every smile he gave you was a gift wrapped in glass.

Now, the day had finally arrived.

Simon stood tall and proud at the altar. His tuxedo was immaculate, and for today, the mask was gone, revealing the sharp, handsome lines of his face. Beside him stood John MacTavish as his best man, with Kyle Garrick and John Price lined up as his groomsmen.

You had been given the painful honor of standing right behind the bride. Her sisters stood beside you as bridesmaids, dressed in soft, sweeping pink, clutching bundles of carnations.

The opening chords of the wedding march swelled through the chapel. The congregation rose in a unified rustle.

And there she was. Your best friend, draped in a breathtaking cascade of ivory and lace, pearls catching the light against the delicate silk of her gown. She radiated pure, unfiltered happiness. Tears welled in her eyes the moment her gaze locked onto Simon. And though he would never admit it to the men standing beside him, Simon’s own vision was blurring.

With a grace that seemed almost ethereal, she floated down the aisle. Her lace-gloved hands tightly held a bouquet of carnations and white roses, her father guiding her steps.

The pastor looked between Simon and Willow, a warm, soft smile gracing his features. "Please be seated... Thank you."

He cleared his throat, his voice echoing gently. "Friends, family, and loved ones, we come together today, in the sight of the divine and before you as witnesses, to join Simon and Willow in holy matrimony. We gather around them now in this wonderful place, looking on with love and hope as these two begin their new life together as one."

The pastor turned his gaze toward the front pew. "Who gives this woman to be married to this man?"

"I do," her father, Steven Mabe, spoke clearly. He gently guided her hand forward.

Simon stepped down to meet her, taking her small hand in his large, scarred one, bringing it to his lips. "You're absolutely stunning, love," he murmured, his deep voice rumbling in the quiet space between them.

Willow blushed fiercely behind her veil.

"A marriage is not only the joining together of two individuals," the pastor continued, "it is also the joining of two families. The care, support, and nurture which have been extended to Simon and Willow by their families is as important now as it has ever been. Simon, your mother would understand—she is not losing a son today, but rather gaining a daughter."

The pastor turned to the opposite side. "Steven and Sharon, you are not losing a daughter, but rather gaining a son. Do you promise to love and encourage Simon as you would your own? If so, answer, 'We will.'"

"We will," Steven and Sharon answered in unison, their voices thick with emotion.

Turning back to the couple, the pastor’s expression turned solemn, holy. "Simon, do you intend to take this woman whose hand you hold to be your lawful wedded wife; and do you pledge before God and man to love, honor, and protect her through sunshine and shadow alike; keeping yourself unto her alone until death shall separate you? If so, answer, 'I do.'"

Simon didn't hesitate. His voice was a steady, unyielding anchor. "I do."

"Willow, do you intend to take this man whose hand you hold to be your lawful wedded husband; and do you pledge before God and man to be to him a loving and true wife, through sunshine and shadow alike; keeping yourself unto him alone until death shall separate you? If so, answer, 'I do.'"

"I do," Willow whispered, a tear finally slipping down her cheek.

"If anyone objects to this marriage," the pastor announced, his eyes slowly sweeping over the quiet congregation, waiting for the traditional beat of silence before moving forward, "speak now, or forever hold your peace."
