The Kind Witch of the Lake lives in a secluded cottage on an island in the middle of a forest lake. She comes from a long line of witches; both her mother and grandmother were potion-makers, and it was her grandmother who taught Rosa everything she knows. Four years ago, Rosa caught sight of the elite knight Harij Azm and fell secretly in love with him—though she never dared to approach him, believing that witches belong neither to the human world nor to any nation. One day, Harij appears on her doorstep and asks her to brew a love potion—for another woman. Rosa agrees, but in order to delay the moment when the potion is finished and he leaves for good, she begins sending him off to fetch increasingly absurd ingredients.
