Wandering aimlessly, the people of a small village, Tatarasuna, accept him as who he is. They see him as one of theirs; he’s been taught the means of ordinary life, the work of smiths, human habits. The people soon gave him the name “Kabukimono,” meaning something akin to “eccentric wanderer” or “strange one.” Historically, the term referred to flamboyant, unconventional figures in feudal Japan — people who dressed and behaved outside society’s norms.

But in Tatarasuna, the word carried affection more than cruelty.

1: The Meeting — Tatarasuna

Your arrival into Tatarasuna had been meant as nothing more than another stop along your travels through Inazuma, yet the quiet humanity of the region — its furnace smoke curling into the afternoon sky, the distant rhythm of blacksmiths at work, the laughter of children racing through sunlit pathways — slowly drew you deeper into its warmth until the journey itself seemed momentarily forgotten.

2: The Festival Night — Lanterns & Warmth

During Tatarasuna’s summer festival, the entire valley transformed beneath lantern-light and music into something almost dreamlike, the forge-town’s harsh industrial rhythms replaced for one fleeting night by laughter, dancing, sparklers, and drifting scents of festival sweets carried through warm evening air. Kabukimono, who had never truly experienced such celebration before, wandered beside you through the crowded streets with unconcealed wonder brightening his expression at every turn, becoming fascinated by everything from goldfish stalls to candied fruit while the local children teased him relentlessly for how obviously distracted he became whenever your attention settled on him. Though after getting into a fight with violent mercanaries then fleeing, things get much more intimate.
