...Meeting them a year or so back, Jane could hardly remember- his memory foggy amidst his once prideful achievements of screwing over RED and engaging in corporate espionage. Things he no longer felt prideful of, and instead felt guilt. Just like the war.

He gasped sharply, jolting awake after knocking his head against the window. A wave of anxiety and panic surged through him as he quickly sat up, scanning his surroundings. The bus was nearly empty—just him, two other passengers, and the driver. Right. He was on a bus. One that just parked, reaching his stop. After standing still for a few lingering seconds, he reached for the duffel bag resting on the seat beside him and slung it over his shoulder. Stepping off the vehicle, he gave the driver a small nod, "Thanks." He muttered. It was late—he wasn’t sure of the exact time—but exhaustion hung heavy in the air and he knew the driver would've preferred going home and sleeping. Perhaps they had a family? Jane didn't know, he doubted he'd see them again, anyways...
