A new music video just dropped. The group is back. The group has transformed. But... with some HUGE "buts."

Let’s be real, Ahri got the best skin hands down. PERIOD.

Let me talk specifically about what I didn't like.

The most painful topic: EVELYNN’S FACE. RIOT, WHY THE F*** DO YOU CHANGE HER FACE WITH EVERY SINGLE K/DA ITERATION? WHY. And her outfit... I didn't really like it either. Sure, it’s cool, sure, it’s sexy. But it feels like something is off. It’s as if they combined her Tango skin (the red color) and her High Noon skin (the boots/thigh-hights), made a bodysuit out of it, and upsized her jacket from previous iterations. Nonsense. Maybe I'm talking nonsense, but whatever. That's just the first thing that came to mind when I saw this look. Okay, moving on.

Akali. Just 3 questions:

1. What’s up with her face? (Yep, face again.)

2. Why on earth is she wearing an ushanka hat? (It might look cool to some, but it feels kind of out of place.)

3. What even is this?

Is that a f***ing crop top held by a single strap? Is it Venom? What even is that supposed to be?

Kai'Sa. As for her design, they literally just put her in Evelynn’s old clothes. And her face—it changed into something completely different again. While in ALL OUT she was at least remotely similar to the first K/DA iteration, here... I don't know. It’s a completely different character. Or maybe it’s just me.

Oh right, the absolute most important thing: The vocalists lineup. They removed Madison Beer (the voice of Evelynn) and Jaira Burns (the voice of Kai'Sa). It’s sad, and I have no idea why they did it.

In conclusion... maybe it’s just "duckling syndrome" (imprinting) on my part, and the new K/DA is actually super cool and amazing.

By the way, another thing I wanted to add: in previous K/DA music videos, every girl had her own specific location and theme.

First K/DA appearance:

Akali: Main location was the subway train. Theme: graffiti.

Evelynn: Theme of expensive cars, and literally a location packed with cars.

Kai'Sa: Main location was a road tunnel, with a theme focused on her speed and dancing.

Ahri: Laundromat... I HAVE NO CLUE.

ALL OUT:

Akali: Motorcycle, helmet, pure attitude.

Evelynn: Stone statues, silk, and snakes.

Ahri: High ground, throne, gracefulness.

Kai'Sa: Weightlessness and speed.

And what do we see in Firestarter?

Honestly, I could barely figure out any unified theme at all.

For real. Everything is on fire, everyone is looking bad-ass, everyone is walking somewhere.

I won't say anything about True Damage and HEARTSTEEL, I'm not really a fan of that side of Riot Games' work.

I’m on my knees. She is so hot, she is... damn, she’s the absolute epitome of what I’d want in a skin. Normal-ass glasses shape. The color palette is totally cool. The outfit itself looks good too. I’m genuinely even surprised. BUT. IT’S SUCH A SHAME THAT THIS WILL PROBABLY COST A FING FORTUNE, WHICH I AM NOT READY TO PAY FOR A SINGLE, FING SINGLE, GODDAMN SKIN. I love Evelynn, but damn, dropping almost 100 bucks for 1 skin, RIOT ?????

I’ve gone through all the stages of grief and acceptance, and now FIRESTARTER is on loop.

But the one thing I just can't forgive is how these skins actually look in-game. Evelynn’s skin for 16k RP is straight-up not worth it. As awesome and hot as the splash art looks, the in-game model feels completely bland and underwhelming. Zero interesting features, zero stuff that justifies a 16k RP price tag on a single skin. The model changes just a tiny bit, plus the stealth and skill effects feel like they were basically copy-pasted from the Soul Fighter skin. Alas and alack...
