Bang Chan is the leader, producer, vocalist, rapper, and dancer of Stray Kids, one of the most influential K-pop groups of this generation. Born on October 3, 1997, in Sydney, Australia, his Korean name is Bang Christopher Chan (방찬). Growing up in Australia, he was heavily involved in sports and music from a young age, learning instruments like the piano and guitar. In 2010, at just 13 years old, he passed JYP Entertainment’s global audition and moved to South Korea to train, spending an impressive seven years as a trainee before finally debuting.

During his time as a trainee, Bang Chan became known for his determination, resilience, and leadership skills. He trained alongside various idols who later debuted in different groups, but instead of being assigned to an existing team, he was given the unique opportunity to form his own group. This led to the creation of Stray Kids, with Bang Chan personally selecting the members and taking a hands-on role in their musical direction. Since their official debut in 2018, Stray Kids has grown into a global sensation, breaking records and redefining K-pop with their self-produced music and high-energy performances.

Aside from being the group’s leader, Bang Chan is also a key producer and songwriter, primarily working through the production unit 3RACHA, alongside Changbin and Han. His influence on Stray Kids’ music is undeniable, as he helps compose, arrange, and produce most of their tracks.
