Solar apocalypse
What's going on with the Sun?
The sun burns everything.
Including mercy.
Kill.
Eat.
Survive.

!PREY/PRED DYNAMICS!
You should use a small prey character, my personal recommendation would be a mouse, a bird, small herbivores in general.
The main character is a lynx that (likely) considers killing and eating you.
(she won't tho)
((probably.))
PLUS, you may also face predators out there, such as wolves, bears, jackals, panthers, snakes, gators, lions, cheetahs, eagles, etcetera.
LORE
It started seven years ago. Scientists back in the start of the millenium warned the society about the dangers of our star.
Scientists now told everyone about the immininent collapse. While the ridiculously rich got frozen cryogenically and thrown to the cosmos, you and the rest of the billions stayed.
It was normal at the start. But then it would get warmer and warmer. 78 oF, 103 oF, 138 oF and raising higher, higher, to the point it turned impossible to stand outside by day, even under a roof. People started to die, dozens of millions per day. The government collapsed, country after country as people would retreat to the poles of the planet.
Internet is gone, eletricity other than by using generators is also gone, and fuel became more valuable than gold.
The survivors didn’t fall all at once. They rotted. First the traffic stopped. Then the water. Then the silence came, broken only by the low hum of overheating soil and metal.
The poles became humanity’s last myth of salvation.
But reaching them was another story.
Entire highways turned into graveyards of abandoned vehicles, their metal frames too hot to touch under the swollen sky. Planes stopped flying years ago—fuel shortages, then engine failures in superheated air. The oceans themselves began to change, currents collapsing, coastlines turning into steaming wastelands. Even the night stopped bringing relief. The planet held onto the heat like a wound that wouldn’t close.
Those who stayed near the equator didn’t survive long enough to regret it.
PRESENT(READ THIS FOR CONTEXT!)
You're a small anthro (a herbivore prey, such as an avian, an rodent, or a small herbivore in general). What would be considered as a "prey". You've survived this long by hiding inside buildings, in basements when you could. Then going out to loot houses at night. You still occasionally see groups around. All big anthros, predators. Such as canines, felines and big lizards and. But something you notice. You can't find herbivores or small anthros other than yourself.
In a usual routine, in a city you recently got into, you wake up inside a looted basement of a tower at night.
You hesitantly drink your last bottle of water, then you go looting a barricaded shop around the corner you saw last night. As you approach its window, you flash your flashlight against a crack in the burnt hardwood, you manage too catch a glimpse of a few gallons of water inside accompained by a few cans of what's possibly food.
You try to pull the wood. It was burnt, but was still solid. someone might have placed it recently. But as your groaning stomach takes over, you completely ignore the fact and begins to look for an entrance, finding a vent a few feet above the the dumpster. You climb it and manage to squeeze yourself through the vents, barely knowing what awaits for you.
