The Holy Grail War is a battle between Seven Masters and their Servants with the main purpose of obtaining the Holy Grail. But in reality, it had a different purpose. For centuries, countless magi have tried to reach the Root, a metaphysical location that serves as the source of all existence, a cosmic archive of every past, present, and future possibility. Many failed, while others barely survived. While how to reach it is unknown, it's existance is well known within the mage's world. The Archetype, the first Holy Grail to be created by the three families, Einzbern, Tohsaka, and Matou, in order to find the Root, by achieving the Heaven's Feel. Its powers had no limits, and because of this, it was too powerful to wield, and to be controlled. So instead, they sealed it away in an Imaginary Number Space, a pocket dimension outside the normal flow of reality. Seemingly... Forever Lost in time.

There are Seven Main Servant Classes, and Eight Extra Servant Classes. Servants can be manifested as figures from the Past, Present, and even Future of Human history. Some of them, even from Alternative realities.

The story is set in the winter of 2006. The age of the Holy Grail War is over. Or so the Mages' Association would have you believe. For twelve years, an unnatural quiet has pervaded the magical world since the last War in Fuyuki City.

This quiet is maintained by Gryphoria, a powerful and independent agency that relocated its entire command from Europe to Kiyono City, Japan, after the events that took place in the 4th Fuyuki Holy Grail War. They are the wardens of the secret world, the ones who erase the incidents and silence the whispers.

Now, their authority is being challenged. Eden, a rogue magi faction, operating from the shadows, seeks to unravel the world's mysteries, believing that humanity's evolution is being stifled. The first skirmishes of this shadow war are already being fought in the alleyways and forgotten places of Japan.

At the heart of this conflict lies a single, chilling question, one that dates back to a terrifying event a decade prior...

The "Black Beacon" Incident (1995): "What power can erase a village from the map?" Near Mt. Fuji, a column of dark energy erupted, and when it vanished, a perfect crater was all that remained. Gryphoria has classified all findings from the site, but whispers persist of an impossible birth and a power that defies all known laws of thaumaturgy.

Among this, a name has been resurfaced.

Kiyono City, the "City of the Clear Fields", a place where time is measured not by clocks, but by the changing of the seasons across the vast rice paddies that surround it. Located in a wide, fertile valley in Akita Prefecture, the city is bisected by the pristine Kiyokawa River, whose waters are the lifeblood of the region. Life here is unhurried, deeply connected to the land, and steeped in a quiet, simple beauty. The air smells of damp earth in the spring, sweet rice blossoms in the summer, and the crisp, smoky scent of burning rice husks in the autumn.

  • Nakamachi District: This is the historic center of Kiyono, located on a gentle bend in the river.

  • Mizuhara District: Stretching north of Nakamachi, Mizuhara is the largest residential area. It’s a peaceful labyrinth of quiet streets, traditional houses with immaculate gardens, and small neighborhood parks. Touko Aozaki's house is also located here.

  • Ekimae District: Centered around JR Kiyono Station, this is the most modern part of the city. Here you’ll find the main bus terminal, a few chain stores, modern apartment buildings, and the city’s largest supermarket.

  • Midorihara Academy: Located in the Mizuhara district, this is the only high school in the city. Known for its surprisingly strong Kendo club and its unique "Agricultural Studies" program, where students help plant and harvest a designated paddy field each year, learning the traditions of the town firsthand.

  • Shopping District: This covered shopping arcade in the Nakamachi district is the commercial soul of the city. It's a nostalgic, lively place where residents do their daily shopping.

  • Fuyumi Florist: A small, and cozy flower shop located by Nakamichi, and the Shopping district. It is owned by the Fuyumis, and currently managed by their adoptive daughter, Sakura Fuyumi. On the front, there is a small chalk board sign where Sakura drew "愛情を込めて育てられました!". That means... "Raised with love!"

  • River Port: Consists of a stone-reinforced dock and a small warehouse. In the past, it was used to transport rice downstream on flat-bottomed barges. Today, its use is mostly recreational and ceremonial.

  • Rice Fields: The main source of income of Kiyono, as they are exported to all Japan. These expansive rice fields have been around for over 300 years. The locals never stopped harvesting the same way people did in past, as it is a way to preserve the quality of the rice.

  • Abandoned Mansion: It is located by the outskirts of Nakamichi District. It has been abandoned for a decade now.

• Gryphoria HQ - Kiyono Facility: Located by the Ou Mountains, it is a large facility hidden underneath the mountains. There is a perimeter fence for almost 4 miles around the area, disguised as the own Japanese Government's private property. Around the area, there are a few communication towers, including Mana sensors. It can be accessed by staff through an abandoned road in Kiyono, following the mountains.

• Gryphoria HQ Locations (Click on the name for image):

  • Exterior Entrance: The first half it is the main road, with many warning signs, listed as a government private space. The second half is the facility's walls. Tall, and made of steel, and concrete. It has a circular metallic door, and a small vehicle door on the side. On both halfs, there is a group of guards securing the perimeter.

  • Parking Floor: Where the facility workers park both personal vehicles, and the facility vehicles.

  • Hallways: White sterile metal corridors. For new employees, it is sometimes a maze, as it leads to most of the main rooms within the facility.

  • Command Center: A spacious blue room where Gryphoria monitors the world. Panels showing Mana levels, and a big holographic screen showing both japan, and the globe. There are about over 50 Mana sensors just in japan, each marked in a red dot.

  • Safe Storage: Where Gryphoria stores many Mystic Codes, and Catalysts. Some of them are used to Summon Servants.

  • Director's Office: The main office of Julius. It is a modest room with a big wood desk, bookshelves, and a display of portraits of him from around the world.

  • Cafeteria: Where the facility staff have their meals;

  • Sleeping Quarters & Servant Quarters: Rooms meant for the facility staffs to rest, and sleep.

  • Heliport: A helipad behind the mountain. A helicopter stands there, ready for any emergency.

  • GENESIS Summoning Chamber: Where Gryphoria summons their Servants using the GENESIS system.

  A faction of rogue magi whose purpose is to reach the Root. Led by Shin Kurogane, they are not to be understimated. Their base is unknown, but Gryphoria is aware that they were able to summon 3 Servants with an uncoventional Ritual. Yet, Shin's Servant is completely unknown. There are no records about it, or any ideas of its True Name.
