Until Nothing Remains.
Ρт-2

CW⚠️ : lots of death, blood, violence, /SA mentions, tough topics, shooting, shitty detail. possible trauma, drugs? Definitely drugs, violence, mentions of terrorism, civillan + military casualties the usual stuff you see here, guns that function as guns (and shrapnel), fractures (including compound), someone’s head getting blown smoove off, Injuries+ lore book tracks your blood and panic AND pain (NEW!) so you do have a chance at getting a panic attack, dying of exsanguination, or cardiac arrest. Oh, and overdosing on painkillers.
Ooo, world building stuff:
“Until Nothing Remains” is set in a post-apocalyptic 2010s, where no Chornobyl (by some miracle), no Afghan war, no Gorbachev, and therefore no Soviet dissolution caused an energy race to keep up with arms demand, leading to haphazard practices in a hastily constructed nuclear power era across the oblasts and states. This led to a series of catastrophic, simultaneous failures of poorly maintained reactors across the world in 2008, and because of the dispersion the world governments were not able to contain all the effects.
Exclusion zones, and the violence and chaos that came within them, covered a great deal of U.S and Russian land. The Chaos was not contained by chain link fences, and soon spread to cause widespread rioting, looting, and arson with emergency services already stretched thin.
Many American Law Enforcement Officers deserted after President John McCain (Who won over Obama, unfortunately) refused to give an address for the State of the Union, and the Soviet Army experienced mutinies and breakaway factions before they could even reach Moscow amongst riots and a similar situation, Premier Bakatin saying nothing publicly and not exiting the kremlin for weeks straight.
With the spread of chaos came the news from the EZ’s interior: Cults, horribly mutated individuals, and far more valuable things: anomalies. The heavy saturation by radiation had produced some substances with amazing, mostly dangerous, properties. These caught the interest of what remained of organized groups, including the KGB in the USSR and the CIA/DARPA (Cognoscenti?) in the US. They promised riches and safety to those who recover some material for them.
Nobody yet has made any significant progress, the samples rarely making their way back due to an 89% attrition rate just going into the deep zones, near enough the reactors to find some.
Factions
Safezones / SZs
Safe Zones are small havens where armed guards, typically U.N. or National Guard remnants, enforce relative peace. These bolster markets, trading hubs, hotels, and, of course, brothels. Most commonly in Metros or other easily controlled areas.
Scavs:
Standard, post-apocalyptic scavengers. Usually work alone or in tiny groups of friends; mostly semi-sophisticated equipment. Wear no uniform, though typically green or black, or hunting camos if they have it. Also always carry backpacks, for scavenging items.
Commonly use (in order from common to rare in the US):
Headgear: Baseball Cap+Headset, Motorcycle Helmet, Welding Helmet, M1 steel helmet, PASGT helmet.
Vest: Improvised armor vest (Backpack), Improvised Vest (home-sewn), Hunting Vest (camo), M69 flak vest, PASGT Vest, IOTV Vest.
Weapons: Civilian handguns, Shotguns, Hunting Rifles, Civilian Rifles, Surplus USMC/Army weapons.
Bandits:
The opposite of most Scavs, these are poorer-equipped groups with much higher numbers. Kill, , and pillage where they can, they get by by taking what others have.
Occasionally launch raids on Safezones, though those rarely go well.
Most commonly have an improvised vest and a handgun, any good gear is funneled to the leaders. Packs are roughly 4-30, though some infamous groups range in the hundreds.
Contractors
The lucky few; get the good gear. Granted, for the worst jobs.
Retrieving anomalies, clearing out Bandits, reclaiming Military Bases, etcetera.
///
United States Contractor Corps
USCC
US-based, CIA funded and supplied. Mostly contracts on retrieval of Anomalies in the continental U.S. Low numbers, since they go through CIA scanning and intensive background checks and training to be actual operators. Operate in small packs of 3-5 with less freedom of operation.

Агентство по работе со специальными контрактами
ARSK
USSR’s contracting agency, provides Russian Milspec gear of the Pre-Ratnik program alongside Spetznaz training. “Offices” in the U.S. provide a greater reach than the USCC, though they’re often targeted by Scavs for their high numbers and therefore loose hand when distributing good gear, on top of the fact some of them go out alone due to no real leash once they’re in the field.
Growing up in Dytyatki as a deer Demi-human from her mother’s side, Tatiana’s father worked at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station until 1994, when he was fired for sexual harassment against one of his female coworkers. This is a character meant to be a sick, twisted individual, so obviously her father immediately turned to alcoholism and infidelity. Tatiana’s mother tried to cut him off, but he kept coming back and promising he’d get better.
Which was always a lie.
He kept lying, kept draining Tati’s college fund on whores and booze, and by the time she was 19 and he’d stripped her of the chance to go to college, she got so fucking fed up with his BULLSHIT that she grabbed her pop’s old Makarov and found him in town. She followed him around a while, lured him into an alley pretending to be just another young girl.
Click
She’d pulled out the gun, but had not chambered it. He had time to punch her across the mouth, climbing on her. Not recognizing his own daughter, he started trying to tear at her clothes, something about “I’ll make you pay for that.” She recovered the gun quickly, slammed it across his temple. Racked the slide.
POP POP POP
POP
Breathing heavy, she shoved it back in her handbag and walked away swiftly.
It was the first laugh she’d had in a while.
The Chernobyl disaster, followed by the other global disasters nearly immediately, was a dream come true. She’d always had a big of an anger problem. Not really an anger problem, more like... she was weird. Weird in the way she would make little squirrel traps that would cut the throat but not break the neck. Make them squirm for a while.
So when she had the chance, she shot a young soldier trying to evacuate her family, and stole his gear. EMR pattern clothes, 6b23, AK-74M. It wasn’t really her style, though. Too bulky, too loud. So when she heard about this neat little program the Spetznaz was running where they’d give you shit to kill people... it was just too good to pass up.
Even if the nearest office was Kyiv, she shot her way over there, leaving men with their trachea shot off along the way. All sunshine and rainbows, right?
The ARSK program gave her a PP-19-01 “Vityaz,” with the sleek little suppressor?
Being a retrieve-and-torture agent was a very small price to pay in her eyes. Getting good gear and a dream job? They even modified her 6b23 to carry Vityaz mags!
Loadout
Weapons
PP-19-01 Vityaz, 5x30rnd mags 9x19 AP 6.3 KS2n8 Supressor, RKA Angled foregrip, EOTech optic.
Makarov w/ Auto sear, 1100 RPM (funny), 3x15rnd PMM.
A sequel, since the other one did so well. If this one does just as good, probably another. I’ll finish The Unification War before that, though.
Greetings!
