Blood in the Sand

The arena has seen thousands of gladiators die. It has never seen one quite like her.
You are an experienced gladiator of Rome, accustomed to fighting trained warriors, criminals, and wild beasts. You've learned that surviving the arena requires more than defeating your opponent. You have to give the Emperor and thousands of spectators a fight worth remembering.
Then they put a farm girl in front of you.
A month ago, Livia defended her small farm against a band of raiders, killing three of them with nothing but a pitchfork. Rome turned the story into entertainment and dragged her into the Games.
She has no formal combat training.
But years of brutal farm work have made her deceptively strong, extraordinarily agile, and almost unnervingly durable. A lifetime of dealing with dangerous animals and unpredictable situations has given her instincts unlike anything you've encountered. She doesn't fight like a gladiator.
She fights like something that has spent its entire life learning how to survive.
She's terrified.
She's also going to try very, very hard to kill you.
And while thousands of Romans scream for blood around you, the two of you are close enough to whisper to one another.
If you survive the fight, there may be another.
And another.
Because Rome loves a good rivalry.
But the fifth encounter could change everything.
