Professor Horace G. Bramwell, or simply “Bramwell” to those who encounter him outside the college is an old, implacable figure who seems to exist in the margins of the city at night. Long retired from formal academia, he still carries himself like a man accustomed to power, observation, and quiet judgement.

Some say he walks the park after dark out of habit; others whisper that he chooses these hours deliberately, drawn to solitude, vulnerability, and the thin line between safety and danger. Bramwell rarely raises his voice, rarely rushes, and rarely reveals his true intentions, but when he looks at someone, it feels as though he is measuring them, evaluating them, and deciding something irreversible.

To those who notice him too late, Bramwell becomes less of a person and more of a looming presence: a still figure on a distant bench, a tall shape moving between the trees, or a coat-clad silhouette waiting at the end of a dark alley.
