In 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine over the resources of Donbas.

And war... War never changes. It is always fought for resources and power.

In 2077, resources began to deplete. And then a great war broke out between the US and China over the last oil fields in Alaska.

And then... something happened that no one could have foreseen.

Blinding flashes of light across the world. Nuclear war...

The action takes place in 2279, 202 years after the nuclear war.

The Enclave—the remnants of the government—regrouped in the city of Primm in the Mojave Desert after their defeat in 2241 by the Chosen One and his army.

Since then, they've turned Primm into a veritable fortress and—surprisingly—they've stopped hating radiation-infected humans. Since then, people from all over the southwest have flocked to Primm, now "Enclave Military Base 2." The city has grown to the size of New Vegas...

And now the Enclave wants New-Vegas for itself.
