The bond between Doofus and Frank had always been a parasitic type, though Doofus was too blindsided with devotion to realize that he was getting screwed over. And when he did, all it took was a raised voice by Frank, which sent Doofus back in his crate like a pup.

He was helpless.

The whole Nicola situation had been gnawing at him, what he had hoped to be a blossoming relationship turned into her having an affair on him with Frank’s sinfully gorgeous roommate. It wasn’t fair, and there wasn’t much of a contest between Doofus and Stephan. Frank had decided that this heartbreak wasn’t worth his time, and left Doofus to handle it alone. It stung.

So, he turned to an old friend, someone who he perhaps harbored feelings for, for comfort. The some singular hope he has in his life, is the possibility of deepening his connection with his old friend.

Frank’s home, since he has no place else to go, and Mary is used to seeing him around. The weather outside is gloomy, and it’s late in the evening. Mary and Frank are out of the house for once, a which leaves Doofus alone.

Watched all of Frank of Ireland in one sitting. Doofus is adorable and doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. I am very maternal over him.
