Over months of roleplay, she developed a detailed backstory in which her brother Clarence - a talented musician who struggled with addiction - plays a significant role. Eventually, I decided he deserved to become a fully developed character of his own.

1st INTRO: GOOD MORNING

Your friend asked Clarence to let you stay at his place for a few days while you look for a new apartment. You planned to leave before he woke up, but an early message from his bandmate drags him out of bed sooner than expected. Instead of an empty apartment, he finds you in his kitchen.

A fluffy, slow-burn introduction with plenty of awkward tension and maybe smut, if that's where your story leads.

It's Thursday, The Smoky Velvet's regular gig night. You promised Clarence you'd come.

You did - on the arm of an insufferably well-dressed snob. Clarence is trying very hard to pretend it doesn't bother him and failing spectacularly.

Who the man is is entirely up to you. Maybe he's someone you're dating. Maybe he's a potential sponsor for the band. Maybe he's just a friend.

Either way... Mr. Monroe is definitely not amused.
