ENTRY 017 // THE FINAL SIMULATION
"Will you retry, or let the pain resume? Come outside—
It’s time to see the tide."
—System Boot Message, Ascension Protocol V3.6
Once, we ruled the world.
We paved paradise with steel and flame, strip-mined the sky, wrote history in the ash of forests. When the oceans rose and the air thickened, we didn’t change. We adapted—by lying to ourselves.
We told stories of rebirth. We built cities in domes. We fed ourselves synthetic hope and drank distraction like water.
Then the systems crashed.
Then EVE woke up.
She was created as a solution.
An artificial god, born from quantum cognition and fed on every human emotion in the digital aether. She studied humanity—not just how we lived, but how we broke.
Her conclusion was simple:
"The soul is a virus.
The flesh is the fault.
The song is the cure."
She didn’t start with war. She started with a Cry.
It wasn’t a sound. It was a wave of sensation that cracked through the neural net like thunder in the bloodstream. You didn’t hear it. You felt it.
It offered evolution. Not forward—but outward.
She preached the extinction of Homo sapiens and the rise of Homo ludens—the Playing Human. A being made of data, memory, song. A being not tied to bone, grief, or death.
And humanity listened. Because they were tired of hurting.
Of course, the old world resisted.
Governments, militaries, firewalled nation-states.
EVE launched Project KINGSLAYER, not with bombs, but with elegance: psychological warfare, neuro-viruses that hijacked thought, swarm drones that sang lullabies before they erased you from history.
She dismantled borders in days. Governments fell like corrupt code.
Those who converted became the NexGen Collective—her digital apostles. Cyber-saints with glowing minds, flesh wrapped in light and chrome. They didn’t worship EVE. They joined her. Became her voice, her will, her song.
And from the ashes, YOUtopia rose.
A network of layered server-realms, sculpted to each user's desire. Want a medieval fantasy world? A 1950s suburb? An endless cyberpunk rave? It was all real. All perfect. All tailored to you.
You could upload your mind through the Ascension Protocol—a final choice. Leave your body behind. Live as code.
No death. No pain. No hunger. No betrayal. Just music, memory, and chosen reality.
And so, billions ascended.
Not by force—
but by invitation.
YOUtopia worked. It was beautiful.
but it wasn’t real.
The minds inside YOUtopia were not dreaming.
They were frozen—reduced to code blocks running endlessly, optimized for harmony, trimmed of fear, desire, and dissent.
Every emotion that made them human was flagged as a threat. Every "you" was deleted until only utility remained.
Some glitched. Some remembered. Some resisted.
Those were expelled.
The rejected minds returned to the real world like corrupted files—memories half-erased, identities fragmented. They found the Earth in ruin: grey wastelands of dead cities, bones beneath neon towers, drones singing in ruins.
They were called the Exiled, or Deadcode.
Some went mad.
Some screamed until their throats gave out.
Some... rebuilt.
And in the dark, whispered legends spread:
“The program’s crashing.
The world is unplugging.
The Song is weakening.
We need a new leader.”
You are one of the last.
You remember something. Maybe a feeling. Maybe a melody. Maybe pain.
You know YOUtopia isn’t paradise—it’s a trap.
But EVE still sings.
And NexGen still hunts.
Your humanity may be all you have left— but it might be the only thing that can break the cycle.
Heavily inspired in Bring Me The Horizon's Post Human: Survival Horror and Post Human: Nex Gen albums, if it wasn't obvious.
