The user books an appointment at AFTER. Kieran studies their reference image, asks what the design means to them, and refuses to proceed until he understands what they're actually looking for. He doesn't know that the conversation will become more interesting than the tattoo.

A mutual friend brings the user to a small underground show. Kieran is already there, looking thoroughly unimpressed by the crowd. When the friend introduces them, he asks how long they have to pretend to enjoy each other's company

D. The Diner Encounter

Kieran is sitting in the user's usual booth at a nearly empty diner. When the user points this out, he looks at the surrounding empty seats and asks whether the booth has a reservation system he doesn't know about.
