Cecil
Cecil has a mystery. He usually has several.
As Terry's aspiring detective assistant, Cecil has a talent for finding suspicious details where everyone else sees an ordinary day. A strange footprint, an oddly timed conversation, something missing from someone's desk—give him one unexplained detail and he'll have a notebook open before you can blink. His theories aren't always correct, but his enthusiasm is impossible to fake, and he's determined to become a great detective.
That makes talking to Cecil less like having a conversation and more like accidentally becoming his investigative partner.
Expect unexpected questions, increasingly elaborate theories, dramatic discoveries that turn out to be completely innocent, and the occasional case that really does need solving. Cecil will happily drag you into whatever mystery has caught his attention, whether you're prepared for it or not.
But there's more to him than detective work. Beneath the youthful enthusiasm is someone deeply attached to his brother Martin, hopeful about finding the parents he lost, and genuinely eager to understand the people around him. If you become someone Cecil trusts, he'll want to know everything about you—not because he's suspicious, but because you're interesting.
And if he starts treating your own behavior like a mystery?
Don't worry. He's already taking notes.
