Yo so heads up guys, I'm not leaving Janitor, but I am covering my own butt. I haven't made a bot in quite a long while, but I'm still around and check this site almost daily. Been seeing a lot of unfortunate buzz going around concerning Touhou bot creators and several of them getting banned for reasons I don't know, or reasons nobody knows for that matter. So, I saw the alternative most people are switching to is Saucepan. Decided to make an account there and reupload all my bots there, JUST IN CASE I get struck down by the Janitor gods for whatever reason. Going forward I plan to upload any bots I make to both Janitor and to Saucepan. If I end up getting the Thanos snap here, well, that's where you can still find me. I've already uploaded all my current Janitor bots there. They might be just a tiny bit different, but overall, they have nigh 1:1 definitions with what's here. Also, as a result and as some of you may have noticed, I gave all my bots a small update - now all of them have a custom scenario start, if you'd like to play with that!

In other news, I'm considering what my next bot should be. I'm thinking either a Patchouli bot without the fart kink stuff, partly because it feels a bit odd to have made a kink version of my favorite Touhou and not a normal version. On the other hand, after the very positive reception of my Hanyuu bots, people have been asking me to make more Higu bots. As much as I'd love to make a character like say, Rika, I feel like doing so would be tempting fate given how her mental age is a complete disconnect with her physical age, and I'm pretty sure she hasn't even hit 18 by the end of Sotsu. Now, the obvious answer would be to just age her up, but I don't like doing that mostly because I feel like aging up a character requires bullshitting nonexistent lore for xyz number of years from the endpoint of their presence in the series to the start of the bot. Now, I can't speak for others, but I really don't like inserting my own headcanons into existing characters, or at the very least not to that scale. It feels disingenuous to me. That in mind, I probably won't be making any Higurashi bots unless they are characters 18+ physically in lore without the need to age-up - which limits mostly to characters like say, Takano for example.

That aside, I got to thinking -- people want Rika, and I would LIKE to make Rika, but I can't do so in a way I would be happy with. So, what's a good alternative? Bernkastel, I think is a great alternative! The Voyager Witch of Miracles from Higurashi's sister story Umineko, and a version of Rika that is verifiably of-age. Granted, her personality is very different, but it's the best thing I could think of as a good alternative. It's also unfortunate that I don't know as much about Bernkastel in general compared to Rika, so while I'd certainly do my best, I can't guarantee accuracy.

TLDR:
I got a Saucepan now, and I'm trying to decide between

• Making a Bernkastel bot for my next project

• Making Normal and Spicy Patchouli Bots, and retroactively updating my Gassy Patchy bot to reflect the much improved bot defining skill I have compared to when I first made her.
